Past NWP Grant Recipients

Year 2011
Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards $325,000 to Salvation Army of Southern Nevada (SA). SA used the money to re-roof and rehabilitate the 12,500 square-foot emergency overnight shelter at its five-acre Owens Campus resulting in an increase of its overnight capacity and 120 beds for approximately 75 men and 45 women every night.

Community Counseling Center of Southern Nevada received the $30,000 NWP Founders Gift.

Year 2010
The Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards $350,000 Rape Crisis Center (RCC). The RCC utilized the funds to open a comprehensive therapeutic counseling center, Signs of Hope, for residents of Clark County ages 12 years and older.

Lied Discovery Children’s Museum received the $30,000 NWP Founders Gift.

Year 2009
Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards $325,000 to Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN). Funds were used to add one new attorney within the Children’s Attorneys Project (CAP) Foster Care Early Intervention Program.

Three Square received the $50,000 NWP Founders Gift, an unrestricted grant annually awarded to the runner up.

Year 2008
Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards $450,000 to The Public Education Foundation. Funds were used to expand the Empowerment Schools initiative.

Nathan Adelson Hospice received the $30,000 NWP Founders Gift.

Year 2007
Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards $320,000 to the Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Stars. Funds were used to support after school programs and technology labs at Dr. C. Owen Roundy Elementary School in Las Vegas to enhance the students’ learning experience.

Boys Town Nevada received the $30,000 NWP Founders Gift.

Year 2006
Nevada Women’s Philanthropy (NWP) awards its first grant of $180,000 to Foundation for an Independent Tomorrow (FIT). The funds established a new employment project and built a permanent Nevada Women’s Philanthropy Employment Project (NWPEP) library within FIT’s facility in north west Las Vegas. The NWPEP is a comprehensive job assistance and placement program for unemployed and underemployed people.
